Goals
PlanetHer aimed to create a planner app designed to educate busy young women aged 18-30 on optimizing productivity and cultivating healthy habits. The goal was to empower them to prioritize what truly matters in life. The successful outcome involved utilizing the prototype to secure funding for the business.

Affinity Mapping – what people said and need
In my design process, I begin with the discover phase, following the double diamond approach. This involves conducting stakeholder interviews and screener surveys to gather valuable insights. Building upon this foundation, I proceed to conduct user interviews with 5 participants, carefully capturing their needs and behaviors. To gain a deeper understanding, I employ the affinity mapping method, enabling me to synthesize and comprehend the collected insights effectively.
Persona
Drawing from the gathered insights, I transition into the Define phase by crafting a persona named Sophie, a 28-year-old busy professional seeking productivity in both work and personal life, aiming to address her pain points, goals, and provide effective solutions.
Experience Map & Problem Statement
Leveraging the persona of Sophie, I employ the experience mapping method to gain deeper insights into her daily routine, identifying key opportunities to assist her, ultimately leading to the formulation of a problem statement that guides the focus on addressing real user needs and delivering meaningful value.
Overwhelmed by the number of tasks and appointments on her schedule, but ready for the challenge.Difficulty in prioritising tasks and fitting everything into her schedule.
Feels stress and frustration about the coming tasks and meetings.Difficulty in staying on track and avoiding interruptions.
Tired of being busy all day without accomplishing much and finds it a bit failed herself.Difficulty in balancing work and personal life.
Reflecting on the day and thinking about how can she make improvement.Need a help to organise her day better.
- Problem Statement
- Sophie a busy worker, needs to be able to plan her daily schedule to meet her long-term goals in order to stay on track for personal growth and keep motivated.
Ideation
- StoryboardingIn the Develop phase, I engage in ideation through storyboarding, illustrating Sophie’s exhausting day and her sense of unfulfillment, which leads me to explore unconventional solutions.
- Crazy 8Through the “crazy 8” exercise, I brainstorm outside-the-box ideas such as a future teller to guide goal achievement, a magician to magically manifest goals, or a personal assistant to organize Sophie’s schedule. This sparks a connection with the potential of AI technology, envisioning an AI-powered planner that learns from user patterns and identifies optimal productivity times to assist in creating more realistic plans for users.
User flow
Moving into the wireframe stage, I begin by sketching rough layouts and determining the desired wording for the app, followed by the utilization of low-fidelity wireframes to perform usability testing. During testing, I create scenarios to guide users and uncover any potential flow issues.

Prototyping
Based on the usability feedback, I proceed to the hi-fidelity design phase, showcasing the prototyping of the application.
